hello, welcome to the thread

The Thread is a podcast about becoming, through the language of style.

It’s a space for conversations about identity, change, creativity, and the moments in between — explored through personal reflection and interviews with creatives and fashion founders.

Here, style isn’t treated as trend or surface. It’s understood as a language: a way we express who we are, imagine who we’re becoming, and move through change with intention.

Coming Summer '26.

where it all began

After becoming a mother, my body, my life, and my sense of self shifted in ways I didn’t expect. I found myself searching again — not to return to who I was, but to understand who I was becoming.

In that season, style became a way forward. Not as performance, but as a practice. A way to imagine myself into the next version of my life and slowly embody her.

That experience shaped The Thread. It’s grounded in the belief that becoming is not linear, identity is not fixed, and style can be a powerful companion during moments of transition.

Each episode of The Thread is approached with care. Some conversations are reflective. Others are playful. Many are deeply practical. Together, they explore how creativity, selfhood, and style intersect — from personal journeys to the building of fashion brands and creative practices.

This is not content to rush through. It’s something to sit with, return to, and carry forward.

Samu Ncube

Host of The Thread — exploring identity, change,  and becoming through style.

I’m Samu Ncube — a writer, poet, and content strategist working at the intersection of creativity, culture, and storytelling.

I’m also the author of Things You Need to Hear Most, a book of poetry rooted in self-love. Alongside my creative work, I lead content and digital marketing initiatives across media and culture, shaping narratives that connect brands with people in meaningful ways.

Fashion is the thread that connects it all for me — writing, mindfulness, marketing, and identity. It’s where inner work meets the outer world, and where creativity becomes embodied.

The Thread is where those worlds come together.
