hello, welcome to the thread
The Thread is a podcast that explores identity through the lens of style.
The Thread holds space for journeys of identity, change, and evolution. Through personal reflection and conversations with fashion founders, industry leaders, and individuals who have built a style that is entirely their own, The Thread explores the relationship between how we dress and who we are.
Coming Summer '26.
where it all began
Hi! I’m Samu, and I created The Thread because style brought me back to myself.
After having my daughter, I didn’t feel like myself for a long time. My body had changed, I had lost my sense of self, and I was figuring out who I was in this new stage of life.
So I decided to build my way back. Intentionally.
The change didn’t happen suddenly. It was gradual, starting with a Pinterest board, consistent workouts, and one outfit that arrived and fit exactly the woman I had been working toward. With my hair done, nails done, everything finally came together. I looked in the mirror and recognized her.
Clothes are not frivolous. They are how you say this is who I am before you open your mouth.
Each episode is a conversation — sometimes reflective, sometimes practical, always honest. Interviews with fashion founders, designers, and people who have done serious identity work through style, alongside solo episodes from Samu herself.
This podcast is for anyone on a journey to find themselves or create someone entirely new.
Style is just where we start the conversation.
Welcome to The Thread.

Samu Ncube
Host of The Thread — fashion lover, creative, mama, marketer, author, obsessed with tabis. Born in Zimbabwe, raised in Botswana, and building in Toronto.
Hi! I’m Samu Ncube - a writer, poet, and content marketing leader working at the intersection of creativity, culture, and storytelling.
I’m also the author of Things You Need to Hear Most, a book of poetry rooted in self-love. Alongside my creative work, I lead content and digital marketing initiatives across media and culture, shaping narratives that connect brands with people in meaningful ways.
Fashion is the thread that connects it all for me — writing, mindfulness, marketing, and identity. It’s where the inner work meets the outside world.
The Thread is where these worlds come together.
